Acts of kindness

“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” – Aesop

Performing acts of kindness has many benefits, and some studies have even shown a link between kindness and your overall happiness. This ripple effect can have a real positive impact, and can help us make the world a better, and more compassionate place.

There are a number of organizations in Canada that keep kindness at the forefront of what they do, to overcome the issues they care about solving. Here are a few of them:

The Human Kindness Project

The Human Kindness Project sees a better future, that is possible for all of us. They are on a mission to empower children and youth to use deliberate acts of kindness as a way to help combat bullying, isolation and stress and to increase inclusion, friendship and resilience.

Kind Canada Généreux

Kind Canada Généreux has a mission to help Canada become an even kinder country. They intend to engage and inspire Canadians to purposefully include kindness in their daily lives, support charitable causes and enhance the well-being of others.

Global Kindness Foundation

Global Kindness Foundation is a Canadian-based charity that provides dental, medical and optical services to people living in impoverished areas worldwide. They have had missions to Haiti, Tanzania, Cambodia, and Iraq (to name a few!)

Kind Space

Kind Space is committed to providing accessible resources and educational programs to support people of all sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions. They give people a space where they can go for personal and peer support, to understand and inhabit their particular identities with confidence and courage.

Whatever the problem, tackle it with kindness and you can’t go too far wrong! What acts of kindness do you do in your everyday life to make a difference?
