Future of Good: Charitable Impact expands pooled funds model; donors to give directly to charity-agnostic causes
October 13, 2025
For many donors, giving to a cause is much more important than giving to a particular charity. Many know they want to donate to alleviate food insecurity, or to support young people, for example, but might not be sure where the funds are best placed.
Charitable Impact’s Cause Funds, launched in 2023, allow donors to give to causes rather than specific organizations. Like a river fed by many streams, a Cause Fund combines donations into a powerful current for change. Donations are pooled together and entrusted to expert Cause Leaders, who carefully direct it toward Canadian registered charities they know will make a difference.
Take the ALS Super Fund. Stewarded by the late Mark Kirton, this Cause Fund brought together ALS patients, caregivers, neurologists, and clinicians to direct donations where they would have the most impact.
