About

A new way to fund 2SLGBTQIA+ justice—at scale

Q Impact is the first comprehensive 2SLGBTQIA+ Cause Fund of its kind in Canada. It is built to find where queer communities are underfunded and overlooked, and to direct serious resources there. As threats intensify worldwide, we pool capital, partners, and strategy to back the highest-impact work, at home and around the world.

Q Impact is held at Charitable Impact through a donor-advised fund (DAF): a flexible, tax-efficient way to give. Built on the Cause Funds model, this approach makes it easier to give with confidence and drive greater impact together.

Plan

Our vision is a world where no 2SLGBTQIA+ community faces harm or isolation, and where local movements for safety, rights, and pride have the resources to thrive.

Q Impact is a global Cause Fund built to move capital where it’s needed most and least funded. We back 2SLGBTQIA+-led and 2SLGBTQIA+-serving organizations advancing safety, rights, and justice, powering movements on the ground where threats are rising and support is disappearing.

Why This Fund Exists Now

Why This Fund Exists Now

2SLGBTQIA+ safety faces a rising threat

Across the globe, 2SLGBTQIA+ communities face escalating threats to their safety, rights, and dignity. Rising hate crimes, democratic erosion, and anti-2SLGBTQIA+ legislation are fueling fear and injustice—while funding becomes increasingly politicized and constrained.

Despite the courageous efforts of local organizations and activists, the movement remains fragmented. Sector inefficiencies, fear of visibility, and limited coordination restrict the sharing of knowledge, resources, and safety strategies when they’re needed most.

This is a critical moment: threats are rising, but funding, coordination, and support are falling behind. Q Impact exists to close that gap.

Supporting Change with Confidence

Supporting Change with Confidence

Helping donors turn care into action

More people than ever want to stand with 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. But knowing how to make a meaningful difference isn't always straightforward.

Q Impact helps donors:

  • Find trusted 2SLGBTQIA+ organizations creating meaningful impact.

  • Direct support where funding gaps are greatest.

  • Give beyond their local community, including internationally.

  • Increase the impact of their personal contribution through collective action.

  • Join a community of people committed to advancing safety, rights, and dignity.

What makes this Fund different

What makes this Fund different

Unlocking collective power through connection

Q Impact is dedicated entirely to 2SLGBTQIA+ communities — not one cause among many in a general fund. Our scope is national and international, not limited to a single city or province. And we work through the Cause Fund model: expert-led and proactive, directing pooled resources to vetted organizations rather than waiting for them to apply.

Q Impact complements community foundations and corporate giving programs supporting this cause — it doesn't compete with them.

How We Fund This Movement

How We Fund This Movement

Combining grants and investments for greater impact

Q Impact brings together diverse forms of capital to support 2SLGBTQIA+ communities in ways traditional funding cannot. Through a combination of charitable grants and impact investments, we fund immediate needs while also backing long-term resilience and growth.

This approach allows donors to support both urgent work on the ground and sustainable solutions for the future, all through a single fund.

Our solution

Find & fund frontline leaders

Identify high-impact local organizations and grassroots leaders advancing 2SLGBTQIA+ safety, rights, and justice in their communities, often with minimal resources and significant personal risk.

Resource rapid response to defend 2SLGBTQIA+ rights

Fund critical work in human rights, public safety, legal support, health services, and community building—helping organizations survive political headwinds and grow sustainable, long-term impact.

Connect a global support network

Build a peer-supported, community-based global network so organizations can share knowledge, safety strategies, data, and solidarity across borders—reducing isolation and strengthening collective power.
