Charitable Impact

There are only a few weeks remaining to get your 2014 charitable donations locked in. So if you’re looking for a cool campaign to support, here are three fundraising groups you’ll want to check out before the year comes to a close. From playgrounds and podiums to a 24 hour famine, these campaigns need your help to end the year on a high note!

Canadian Paralympic Committee’s From Playground to Podium

Canadian Paralympians inspire us on the world stage with their outstanding performances. Now they’re inspiring kids with disabilities on playgrounds across Canada. This December, the Canadian Paralympic Committee and a number of Paralympians including Josh Duek, Elisabeth Walker-Young, Josh Cassidy, and Tony Walby are coming together to help Canadians with disabilities become more physically active.

As an added bonus, Canadian Tire, Petro Canada, and Pfizer have contributed $30,000 to double every gift you make!

Hopewell Avenue Public School Yard Campaign – Every Leaf Counts

The school yard plays an important role in our communities. Sadly, Hopewell Avenue Public School in Ottawa, Ontario recently lost its trees and learned that its playground needs to be replaced.

In response, alumni, families, and neighbourhoods around Hopewell are starting their own fundraisers and rallying to inspire fun memories for generations to come.

Help bring playing in nature back to Hopewell!

Boomer’s Buddies

Being hungry sucks. That’s the slogan behind A Better Life Foundation’s 24-hour famine, coming up on December 19. Join Jeff Boomer, CFO of Earls Restaurants, who’s getting involved in support of food security on the DTES.
