A Huge ‘Thank You!’

A huge thank you to the players, sponsors and to everyone who joined us at TechPong 2019.

The biggest to date, we were thrilled to welcome over 1,000 people to TechPong 2019 at Science World on November 7th. It was incredible to see so many people from the local tech community join together and give so generously. Collectively, teams and sponsors raised over $65,000 for the causes they care about.

This was the sixth instalment of TechPong and the generosity of the Vancouver tech community has never wavered. Together we have raised $400,000+ at TechPong over the years.

Transoft Solutions topped the fundraising leaderboard for the second year running with a whopping $6,560 raised in support of One Girl Can. We were thrilled to see them walk away with the top prize courtesy of the Vancouver Whitecaps: box suite access at a 2020 season game and a player meet & greet session.

For those of you who weren’t able to join us at TechPong 2019, this is what you missed...

TechPong 2019

TechPong 2019 was a Fun Fair! The competitive spirit was evident as friends became rivals (and rivals became friends), going head to head in a number of carnival games.

From a giant ball pit to a downhill ski challenge, lots of fun was had testing both body and mind. Well done to those that came out victorious!

There were some incredible costumes from those getting into the carnival spirit...

… But the best dressed prize went to the Switchboard PR team, who came along dressed as cotton candy!

Galvanize also won a prize of $250 charitable dollars by taking part in our social media competition on the run up to the event.

The standard of play in the tournament was exceptional, and teams fought late into the night to walk away with the coveted TechPong trophies, with prizes in charitable dollars sponsored by Colliers International

Previous singles champion, Rippu Gupta from Copperleaf, reclaimed her title as TechPong winner in the singles competition.

… And Shrey Rajest and Luigi Sacco from Microsoft walked away as champions of the doubles tournament.

A special thank you to Parallel 49 for supplying the libations and to Presto Entertainment for providing non-stop music to keep the energy going.
