Giving Season is here!

Here in Vancouver, it’s looking like we’ve seen the last of the sunshine. The rain here and the evenings are darker. But there is a bright note: with the turn of the weather, of course, comes giving season!

#GivingTuesday falls on the first Tuesday in December—following Black Friday and Cyber Monday— and it is generally one of the biggest days for charitable giving across North America. This movement also kicks off the biggest giving month of the year since roughly one-third of all donations made in Canada happen in the month of December. 

If you are looking to give back this giving season, there are a number of ways to use your Impact Account with Charitable Impact to support the causes you care about. Whether you are looking to give as a group or an individual, we are here to help you make an impact that will last while beyond when the holiday lights come down. 

Giving Groups

When we join together, we can maximize our impact. Giving Groups on Charitable Impact enable you to join together with friends, family, or co-workers to raise money. They are really easy to set up and manage, just visit the “Giving Groups & Campaigns” tab on your Impact Account to get started.  

Instead of asking for gifts over the holidays, you could ask friends and family to make a donation to your Giving Group. Or how about organizing a fundraising event? Get your colleagues to put $5 into your Giving Group in exchange for bringing them or sending them some of your magical baking (did someone say sugar cookies?). 

Giving as an individual

You can make a one time donation into your Impact Account and allocate the money to the charities or causes of you choice. If you’d like to give to your favourite charity on a monthly basis, setting up a recurring donation might be for you.

According to Network for Good’s donation data, the average recurring donor will give 42% more in one year than those who give one-time gifts. Give the gift of giving
