John Bromley recognized as “an outstanding individual” for his work in the wealth technology sector”

Charitable Impact is proud to announce that its Founder and CEO, John Bromley, has won a WealthTech Americas Award in the category of “Leading Individual Canada Region” for his outstanding work in the wealth technology sector.

Bromley’s award acknowledges his leadership role in the launch and exponential growth of Charitable Impact’s Charitable Investment Program (CIP). In 2018, Canada’s first fully web-based donor-advised fund (DAF) supported a handful of financial advisors in helping their clients make informed decisions about maximizing the impact of charitable donations. Five years later, Charitable Impact works with 147 advisor teams, with total donations through CIP far exceeding $750 million. The program is proving so popular with the Canadian financial community that the Charitable Impact Awards launched in 2022 to recognize CIP’s most active wealth management partners. The “Team of the Year,” Stenner Wealth Partners+, enabled more than $80 million in gifts for its clients in 2021 alone.

“It is truly an honour to be the first winner of the WealthTech Americas Awards focused on the charitable sector,” Bromley said. “Financial advisors are among the best people positioned to help increase access to and participation in giving. One of the main reasons CIP is such a success is that it gives financial professionals a team of experienced people they can talk with to help their clients plan for and carry out charitable gifts regardless of what charities they want to support. Our program enables these advisors to stay involved with their charitable client by, for example, providing investment management services post-donation.” The Charitable Impact platform is uniquely designed to seamlessly process donations of publicly traded securities, arguably the most tax-efficient asset to donate charitably because of the elimination of capital gains tax on the donated shares.

Beyond publicly traded securities, Charitable Impact supports its advisor partners in facilitating non-cash donations such as private company shares, real estate, life insurance, and even cryptocurrency. “As Charitable Impact’s recent $1-billion milestone shows, huge amounts of charitable giving becomes unlocked when our game-changing application of digital tech to DAFs is combined with services to help advisors better serve their clients. Those unlocked dollars lead to real change in our communities.” Bromley said. “I am immensely proud of the triple-digit increases in year-over-year donations our platform has enabled working alongside many of Canada’s best financial professionals.”

Hosted by London, England-based ClearView Financial Media, one of the world’s leading providers of business intelligence in the private banking and wealth management space, the WealthTech Americas Awards celebrate companies servicing the family office and wealth management industries.
