Here are some fantastic Father’s Day events that not only celebrate fathers, but also embrace family, the community, and meaningful causes.

Plaid for Dad

Prostate Cancer Canada is encouraging Canadians to make a pledge and wear Plaid for Dad, to raise awareness for prostate cancer. While this may not be a physical event, the thought of a community in a sea of plaid would definitely be a sight to see!

Do it for Dads Walk Run

This family-friendly event allows participants to enjoy the great outdoors, get fit, and do it all for a great cause. Do it for Dads Walk Run takes runners on a fun and gentle 5km race, all to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer research. This event is hosted nationwide by Prostate Cancer Canada, with BC hosting a similar Father’s Day Run. Make sure to visit their official event website for a race location near you.

Car Free Day

Some of Vancouver’s most notable neighbourhoods are going car-free over Father’s Day weekend. Car Free Day is a fantastic two-day event, showcasing great local vendors and entertainment. This day also advocates for a community culture that embraces public spaces, resources, and renewed environmental policies. It’s a great event to check out with the family!

Point Grey Fiesta

The Point Grey Fiesta is another great event celebrating the community of Vancouver. This not-for-profit community event brings athletic, arts, social, and business groups together to share and experience a day of activities. This weekend is packed with family-friendly events and lively carnival-style fixtures, including stage performances, rides, and a Father’s Day Kids & Dads Race.

There are other great ways to celebrate and honour dad. The PCC Prostate Cancer Centre and Bret Hart have teamed up to create this Father’s Day Campaign, supporting the organization’s efforts in improving the quality of life for men living with prostate cancer and their families.
