If you’re already adding funds to your Impact Account, you’ll be more than familiar with the great feeling that comes with giving to charity. But, did you know that there are a number of different ways to make the most out of giving with Charitable Impact? We’ve listed ten of our favourite ideas in this post to help you make giving a part of everyday living.
1. Make birthday gifts charitable
Rather than searching for presents in the shops or online, send your friends and family some charitable dollars via CHIMP. That way, they can feel good about giving to a charity of their choice.
2. Bad news stories
Next time you see a news story that makes you want to take action, add money to your Impact Account. Then when you have the time, search for a related charity that’s working to resolve that issue.
3. Good news stories
You just saw a news clip on puppies being rescued from an abandoned car. Inspired by those who saved and rehabilitated them, drop money in your fund and make a mental note to look for an animal-friendly charity.
4. Repay a favour
Your friend won’t take gas money for the ride to Kelowna, so gift them charitable dollars via Charitable Impact instead. Or when your neighbour cooks you dinner, or when your brother washes your car, or when your housemate loads the dishwasher…
5. Give a charitable allowance
Set up a Charitable Allowance for your kids on Charitable Impact and join us in nurturing the future generation’s passion for creating change. Add a charitable allowance to your kid’s day-to-day life to teach them about generosity and start a family tradition of giving.
6. Bad habits can be good for charity
You’re habitually late for meetings. Rather than just being apologetic, hold yourself more accountable; pledge to drop $1 into your fund for every minute you’re late.
7. Be regular
Set up a recurring donation so you can be generous on a monthly basis without even having to think about it. Better yet, ask your employer to sign up for a Corporate Fund and have them match your donations. When you’re ready to choose a charity (or several), you’ll have amassed a nice pile to pass on.
8. Go easy on excess
Skip the Starbucks latte, or the fourth glass of wine — and instead, add funds to your Impact Account.
9. Feel good about yourself – x2
When you’ve achieved a personal goal — like passing an exam or learning something new — feel even better about yourself by adding to your Impact Account or giving to a cause you care about.
10. Giving for God
Do you believe in the practice of tithing or your religion’s equivalent? Use your Impact Account to keep track of it easily.
